Rambután / Rambutan

Rambutan is a tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia. The exterior of the fruit is covered by an orange-colored, leathery skin with soft spines or hairs. Inside, the juicy white flesh has a sweet-tart flavor similar to grapes and lychees. The texture of the flesh has a slightly gelatinous quality that is unique to rambutans. Its flavor profile combines sweetness with slight acidity and tartness, making it an incredibly delicious snack when eaten fresh from the tree or chilled after harvesting.
